Yep.... I'm still here. And I am alive and well........ very well in fact. I am fantastic! I have had a bitter sweet last year.....more sweet than bitter. I just thought that I needed to check out the vox community and put a good word in myself. I kinda missed vox and the peeps.....so here I am...... back again. Alive and well.
yes... that's right..... i drank some french press this morning. it wasn't just any bean...it was ETHIOPIA SIDAMO. it's been a long time since me and my press had a meeting together. i've been drinking red bulls and vanilla lattes. and this morning i decided to go back to the good old pure pressed coffee bean. i had forgotten how wonderful french press was........... it was so smooth, yet so bold at the same time. it was a refreshing start to the day. so for you coffee drinkers out there..... i strongly exhort you to go buy a pound or two of ETHIOPIA SIDAMO. it will make your life a little better in the mornings. i know.... it sounds silly, but some of you know what i'm talking about ;)
and thanks ben for leaving that magical bean here at our house :D
What's the best way to get on your good side?
Submitted by Manon-It-All.
well, it's pretty easy to get on my good side.... BUT, if you really want to get on my GOOD GOOD side...... then ya have to buy me something, or make me something :D HAHAHA!!! i know that sounds weird, but i love to get people little gifts.... just little things, like buying someone coffee, getting them a card, drawing them a picture, or even picking them i flower from my neighbor's yard. SO... when someone does the same thing for me... it means the world to me! i guess that's just the way i express my love towards others, so when someone does that for me i feel really really loved. yeah.... that's that. that's how you get on my GOOD GOOD side.
The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the mouldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.
My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the mouldering past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

i have A LOT of favorites. this is not my #1 favorite, but i love this one.What is one of your favorite poems?
Submitted by marvel is my pen name.
THE DAY IS DONE.
The day is done, and the darkness
Falls from the wings of the night,
As a feather is wafted downward
From an eagle in his flight.
I see the lights of the village
Gleam through the rain and the mist,
And a feeling of sadness comes o'er me
That my soul cannot resist:
A feeling of sadness and longing,
That is not akin to pain,
And resembles sorrow only
As the mist rsembles the rain.
Come, read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling,
And banish the thoughts of the day.
Not from the grand old masters,
Not from the bards sublime,
Whose distant footsteps echo
Through the corridors of time.
For, like strains of martial music,
Their mighty thoughts suggest
Life's endless toil and endeavor;
And to-night I long for rest.
Read from some humbler poet,
Whose songs gushed from his heart,
As showers from the clouds of summer,
Or tears from the eyelids start;
Who, through long days of labor,
And nights deviod of ease,
Still heard in his soul the music
Of wonderful melodies.
Such songs have power to quiet
The restless pulse and care,
And come like the benediction
That follows after prayer.
Then read from the treasured volume
The poem of thy choice,
And lend to the rhyme of the poet
The beauty of thy voice.
And the night shall be filled with music,
And the cares, that infest the day,
shall fold their tents, like the Arabs,
And as silently steal away.
